The City of Austin Public Works and Transportation Department had determined that the eastbound left turn lane on Braker Lane at Metric was not sufficient for the traffic volume. Arizpe’s objective was to increase the intersection capacity by adding pavement for dual left turn lanes and three through lanes for eastbound Braker Lane.

Arizpe prepared the design and construction drawings for the project which included demolition of existing pavement, new curbs, gutters, sidewalks, driveways and asphalt pavement. The design also included significant landscape modifications, drainage pipe extensions, striping and the relocation of existing traffic signals.
