Intel Corporation Demolition
Austin, Texas
Client
General Services Administration
The Intel Corporation began construction of a 10-story office building in downtown Austin, but due to changes in the market economy the project was stopped after the steel and concrete structure had already been erected to the sixth floor. After sitting vacant for six years the building was ultimately demolished to make room for the new Federal Courthouse project.
Arizpe was commissioned to provide the early civil engineering and design services for the project, including traffic control for the implosion and clean-up as well as surveying and utilities facilitation. Arizpe also provided field surveys of the site after the demolition debris had been cleared.
