This recreational park project included the construction of four baseball fields with lighting, fences, access pavement, utilities, and a two-story pavilion with restrooms, concessions and scorekeeper’s booth.

Arizpe engineers reviewed the site, survey and geotechnical data and made recommendations for locating the twelve courts and pro shop to optimize the use of the site, taking into consideration the plans for future expansion. The very expansive clay soils for this site were addressed and the appropriate remedies were incorporated into the design of the courts and ancillary structures.

Arizpe developed the layout of the four fields with raised pitching areas, baselines, and a twenty-foot warning track along the outfield perimeter. The infield, outfield and the area between baselines were sod and include an irrigation system connected to an existing re-use water system. Pavements were designed to accommodate emergency and service vehicles. Arizpe civil engineers creatively thought to rearrange the baseball fields so that additional drainage considerations were no longer necessary, resulting in a significant savings to the base.
