Arizpe was contracted to provide construction documents and prepare an engineering report that identified ways to remedy the inadequate on-site water reserve capacity for fire protection, and make recommendations for the refurbishment of an abandoned sewage lagoon that had become environmentally critical.
Arizpe also provided civil engineering and construction administration services for the design and construction of a 500,000 gallon above ground water storage tank including 1,800 LF of water transmission main to the facility distribution pumps. Arizpe came up with a creative solution for completing the treatment phase of the sewage to allow discharged water to irrigate a neighboring farm.
Arizpe also conducted structural assessments of on-site buildings. The work included foundation cores, level surveys and monitoring of building movement. Severe movement in the structural wall and roof framing systems, including foundation damage, was found. Arizpe’s report provided recommendations for repairs to the more severely damaged buildings.
