Arizpe was tasked with designing a new parking lot for the Ed Cody Branch Library in San Antonio. Arizpe also engineered the repair and resurfacing of the existing parking lot, which had significant areas of deteriorated asphalt and sub grade.
As part of the initial review, Arizpe researched the site for traffic impact, handicap accessibility, storm water management, landscaping and irrigation. Some of the existing parking spaces were doubled to accommodate handicap parking. New site lighting was installed and modifications were made to the existing fencing. A library delivery van loading area was created and the site was landscaped to include new trees and sod in the parking islands.
