The Medical Sciences Library at Texas A&M University has the reputation of being the most prestigious on the campus. Arizpe master planned the entire first floor providing a new identity to the inside as well as the outside. Similar to Arizpe’s renovation of the West Campus Library at Texas A&M, the renovation is focused on serving the current generation of technology savvy students.

The existing study area is under-utilized due to lack of power and data available for student use. To solve this issue, Arizpe designed a raised floor application and selected furniture with electrical components which will allow the library to provide ample power and access for the students to plug into. The advantage to this system is the ability to reconfigure as the needs change with future generations. With the addition of raised floor, the electronic capacity of the open reading area increased by more than double. The renovation also includes a rebranding of the front entry, expansion of the canteen area and upgrades to the restroom facilities.
